I have almost 30 years' experience in labour, employment and management. I began my career as a student and associate lawyer with Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt (now Osler LL.P) practicing in the areas of labour and employment, human rights, employment standards, workpalce safety and wrongful dismissal. In 1997, I joined the law department of York Region as Labour & Employment Counsel. In 2004 I was appointed Regional Solicitor, and in 2014 I was appointed Commissioner, Legal & Court Services. During my career at York Region, I was lead negotiator for York Regional Police and was actively  invovled in a wide range of labour, employment and human resources matters. I was also a leader within the municipal sector on the development and advancement of labour issues.  After a 23 year career in the public service, I started my own mediation/arbitration practice, Hulton Workplace Resolutions, specializing in workplace conflict and dispute resolution.
