Barbara Neri is a writer, scholar, multidisciplinary artist and educator. She is internationally recognized for The E.B.B. Project, a synergy of creative and critical processes generating groundbreaking work. She is a published writer and scholar, a published and produced playwright and an award winning screenwriter. Neri is the author of the play Unlocking Desire and its screen adaptation that won the 2017 Marfa Film Festival. Unlocking Desire is currently in early pre-production with Neri as director and a start date of 8 May 2023. Her 2021 Academy Nicholl quarterfinalist feature screenplay The Forgotten Front is an historic LGBTQ , WWII love story. Her published writing, artist pages and literary criticism can be found in The Drama Review, Performance Research, Tennessee Williams Annual Review and Victorian Poetry among others. Neri holds a Bachelor’s in Art Education from Herron Art School and Butler University and an MFA in Dance from the University of Michigan.
