The Bankview Community Garden is in Upper Buckmaster Park near 23rd Avenue and 16th Street SW. It was created in 2011 to be a peaceful and productive space where neighbours can meet, relax and grow food for themselves. Plans are in the works for our garden rebuild this spring as we finalize the budget, hire a landscape contractor for the heavier work, and source out supplies.  With those in place we will plan for tasks that can be carried out on a Community work day. In 2014, the Cliff Bungalow-Mission Community Association completed the new Cliff Bungalow Community Garden. The garden is home to 30 plots for community members, as well as a number of shared herb beds and donation beds. The build took place in May and included over 50 volunteers. Updated July 2020.

This community garden at the Southwood Library was started in 2012 and has had many successful seasons.The garden is well supported by countless community volunteers. The gardeners share with "Garden Angel" duties which includes daily watering of community beds, library beds, and helping those on vacation. This garden was originally built by Calgary Alternative Support Service, a non profit agency that offers community support services to adults with disabilities. This garden was built in 2010 with materials, labour and equipment support by The City of Calgary Parks and by the donations and hard work of Community Crop volunteers. Additional financial support was contributed by Chef Wade Silous of In Fuse Catering and local musicians and artists who donated their talents in a benefit concert. In 2007, founding members of Community Crop built 35 garden beds. Funding was provided via donations from the South Calgary CommunityAssociation and participating gardeners. The FCJ Centre Community Gardens design and construction was graciously donated by JVR Landscape. We are thrilled to offer the gardens for the fifth year to enhance community gardening in the Mission District. Last year all of the plots were picked up quickly!
