Hello all,I am excited to be rejoining WIFV! After finishing film school at American University years ago, I participated in film festivals, and worked in television briefly. Happy to say that I have resumed writing and am currently in the research phase of a recently finished script. I plan to begin production in 2023.  In addition to being a Writer, I have experience as a Director, Producer, Set/Props Designer, Location Finder and have a Voice Over reel.  

I have been a hat rack of positions starting out as an editor for working my way to producer.  Current projects: “Heartbeat” short film about domestic violence in the Lesbian community.  Feature film is in development with Film Nation on a family of undocumented immigrants, and cousin with DOCA.Have experience in production of corporate work and political commercials.I believe in helping others when I can and offering any and all knowledge I have.

As a recent graduate of the Producing Film, Television & Video M.A. program at American University, I am actively seeking primarily Associate Producer and Production Assistant roles in the film & television industry.I have also dedicated time toward interning as a freelance script specialist for the Los Angeles-based production company, Josephson Entertainment. In reviewing film scripts, television pilots, and novels, I have been given the opportunity to critique unproduced material to ensure editorial accuracy, thoroughly developed storylines, and strong creative content.  

I have been working in the television industry for over 30 years. I have directed four feature length documentary films that have been broadcast nationally, the most recent in 2020.  Trailers for each can be seen on my Vimeo page. Currently, I am venturing outside my comfort zone and producing an original script of mine as an animated short.   We have just completed the character design and storyboard phase and now fundraising for animation.

Debbie Brodsky is a three-time Emmy Award-winning producer with over 25 years of video production and television experience. She founded her production company, DMB Pictures, in 2006 to create documentary-style broadcast-quality video stories for families, foundations, non-profits and small businesses.
