The Acadia Community Garden and Art Society was created to provide residents with a place to practice their gardening in Calgary's neighborhood of Acadia. We offer affordable garden space rental, community events, arts festivals, picnics, and a connection to like minded individuals in the greater Calgary area. The gardeners are active with a season opening and closing gathering as well as fundraising events throughout the season. The Banff Trail Community Garden was established in 2010 and has been a great place for community members to grow fresh vegetables, get to know community members of all ages, and contribute to creating a beautiful space to be enjoyed by all. The DouglasQuarry Community Garden is nestled in between the rink and the baseball diamond, across from Swifty's in Douglasdale.  It is made up of individual plots that members of the DouglasQuarry Community Association can lease for the growing season. If you would like to grow your own fresh organic food, you don't need to have a green thumb; no experience is necessary.  You will learn various tips and tricks from other gardeners.  The more experienced gardeners are always happy to share methods that have worked for them.For more information contact garden@dqca.ca.

The Hillhurst Sunnyside Community Garden has been an integral and active part of the community since its start in 1989; we celebrated our 25th anniversary in 2014. Our wonderful garden is located at the Hall – 2828 28th St SW. Every year, we ask the community who wants to be involved. KGCA members pay a fee per plot and then enjoy the challenge of growing their own fruits, veggies and herbs. Recently our garden has been growing even more thanks to ATB Agriculture. Their help in grants over the past 3 years has allowed us to create 4 new cedar plots on 28th Ave – meaning even more residents can get involved.Updated July 2020.

The Oakridge Community Garden (OCG) Program is part of the Oakridge Community Association (OCA). The Varsity Community Garden (VCG) is a volunteer-managed community garden that promotes sustainable gardening practices, innovative garden-based learning, and environmental conservation.All ourgardeners and volunteers are registered members of the Varsity Community Garden Club (VCGC), which is free to join. In addition to the annual rental fee you must have a Willowridge Community Membership.
