There are lots of reasons to participate in community gardening. It gives you a reason to spend time outside, and it gives you opportunities to meet your fellow gardeners and community members. Community gardeners share a sense of pride and well being that comes from planting, nurturing, and harvesting, and from a sense of belonging in the larger community. They enjoy the satisfaction of having contributed to building and maintaining an incredibly beautiful space in the neighborhood. There are as many reasons to garden as there are gardeners, but mostly, it's fun and it's good for you. Come join us and we'll show you all the reasons to love gardening.
There is a 4 x 8 bed that is dedicated for growing indigenous medicinal plants, maintained and harvested by a member who is expert in the field. She also conducts workshops for our members teaching about the various healing applications.
