About Me


William Kleinert is a committed environmentalist, avid student of history and media business veteran with in-depth experience across traditional and new technology platforms, content creation and distribution channels. His media production, marketing, sales, management, executive, news and consulting experience spans three continents and fifteen countries, including employment with ABC Television, Time-Life Broadcast, USA TODAY/Gannett New Media and for the past 25 years in his current capacity as President and Executive Producer at Tillinghast Reid WorldWide, LLC. His present focus includes climate change, high resolution 8K production, and giant screen filmmaking.


William is producer, director and writer of six documentaries, including the award-winning “PROJECT: ICE,” “Aaron Copland: The Composer Conducts” and the three-part “Saving The Environment” series, as well as 600 television commercials, dozens of corporate and association productions and music videos.


International media development consulting engagements in emerging democracies have included work with USAID, the United States Department of State, Soros Foundation, United States Telecom Association, Press Now (Netherlands) and the Swedish-Helsinki Committee for Human Rights.


Kleinert earned a Master of Science in Radio-Television-Film from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communication at Syracuse University (NY). He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Speech and Political Science from The College of Wooster (OH). Additionally, William earned a diploma in German Language at the Goethe Institut, Staufen-im-Breisgau, Germany, and is a graduate of the Poynter Institute for Media Studies Senior Newspaper Management Program, St. Petersburg (FL).


Kleinert has taught graduate level media management courses in Switzerland, Russia, Central Asia, and the Balkans.


William Kleinert currently serves on the Innovation (Technical) Committee of the Giant Screen Cinema Association (GSCA). He is a graduate of Leadership Detroit and served on the Media Working Group at the United States Institute for Peace, an organization created by the United States Congress. He is a past fundraising leader for AWRT and Habitat for Humanity, as well as Public Information Chair for the American Cancer Society Michigan Division and sailing instructor to Boy Scouts in North Carolina.
