Philip Kashap has been Director of the Huntsville (Ontario) Suzuki School of Music since 2012. Before this; he and his family lived in Saskatoon for 26 years. In Saskatoon Philip taught at the University of Saskatchewan and the Saskatoon Suzuki Program; which he also directed for five years.

Philip grew up near Boston and San Francisco; and attended Yale University where he received his BA and MM. He is married to Martha; a professional violinist; and has five grown children; all of whom are musical in one way or another. He was one of the first North American Suzuki students himself; and enjoys using the Suzuki method now with his students.
