About Me



Ray is a lawyer, mediator and arbitrator.  For over 20 years, Ray has practiced law almost exclusively in the area of commercial litigation, where he has acted for both plaintiffs and defendants.  His knowledge of the law and legal procedure is superior and is supplemented by his extensive business experience, having managed a $70-million portfolio consisting of commercial, industrial and multi-unit residential real estate, and film and entertainment businesses.

Ray has been counsel in some of the highest profile cases in Canada, including the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan v BCE Inc. litigation.  He has been litigation counsel to numerous banks, including Royal Bank of Canada, HSBC Bank Canada, HSBC Bank USA, National Bank and Bank of Montreal and well-known companies including PWC, Metlife, Manulife Financial and Transamerica.  In addition, he has acted for hedge funds, receivers/managers and medium- and large-sized businesses in disputes ranging in value from $100,000 to over $5-billion.
Using his diverse skills, Ray has honed the ability to look at issues from all angles, thinking outside the box and providing strategies that are legally appropriate, creative, pragmatic and practical for all parties involved.
