About Me


Sara Jane Snook is a professional engineer with over 25 years of experience in energy development, corporate finance and commercialization of science and technology. She is the international Chair of the ISO Greenhouse Gas and Climate Change Management Committee.  The Committee develops and maintains a suite of ISO standards for mitigation and adaption to climate change. As former Deputy Minister at the Nova Scotia Department of Environment, a former Board Member of the National Energy Board and of the Canada Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Board, a significant contributor at a large multinational oil company, and a long time member of the public service with the Nova Scotia provincial government, she has had a significant impact on resource development in the Maritimes and across Canada over many years and in many jurisdictions. She has also contributed to the development of new businesses and technologies in the Maritimes and is a role model for young women engineers in Canada.
