About Me

Chris has been a commercial/civil litigator with over 20 years of experience handling hundreds of cases involving construction law (construction lien actions, breach of trust and delay claims), commercial law (including breach of contract cases and priority claims as between secured and unsecured creditors), disputes arising from real estate transactions (including title insurance claims), professional negligence claims, commercial landlord and tenant disputes, mortgages, bankruptcy, partnership and shareholder disputes. Chris has conducted trials before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and has argued appeals before the Ontario Court of Appeal.

As a mediator, Chris will work hard (starting with pre-mediation Zoom meetings with counsel at their request) in order to fully understand all of the legal and factual issues and the parties’ claims before him as part of a collaborative process aimed at reaching amicable resolutions. Chris is prepared to conduct mediations in person and via Zoom. If the mediation is in person, Chris is prepared to attend at the offices of counsel or at a neutral location that is convenient for all counsel and parties.

Chris obtained his law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1999 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2001. He has also completed (in person) mediation training at the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at the Caruso School of Law (Pepperdine University – California, U.S.A.) and the ADR Workshop offered by the Stitt Feld Handy Group (Faculty of Law, University of Windsor – Ontario).
