Brian W.Gray, has practised intellectual property law for over forty years in Canada. He is a former co-chairman of the Intellectual Property and Entertainment Committee of the Intellectual Bar Association.

Brian has litigated copyright, patent and trademark cases before the Federal Court in Canada. He has mediated software license, trademark, copyright and entertainment disputes and has arbitrated false advertising claims. He has particular expertise in software patents (lead counsel representing banks in the Amazon case and as intervener for insurance industry in the Benjamin Moore case).. Brian represented Nortel in the sale and licensing of its patents.  Brian has represented movie studios and producers in copyright, software and publishing disputes. Brian is a WIPO  Arbitrator and on the  INTA Panel of Trademark Mediators. He is also a member of IP Neutrals of Canada. He has published widely in the field, and has been selected by peer review publications in the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada as one of the leading and most frequently recommended intellectual property lawyers practising in Canada. Brian was formerly head of intellectual property at two of Canada’s leading law firms.
