Duncan W. Glaholt, CArb, is counsel to the leading and nationally recognized construction law firm, Glaholt Bowles LLP, and leading construction industry ADR firm Glaholt ADR Inc. He is the recipient of the 2014 OBA Award of Excellence in Construction Law, the 2018 TCA Donald Griffin Jr. Award. He has been consistently named one of the Leading 500 Lawyers in Canada in the field of Construction Law by Lexpert® and is certified by the Law Society of Ontario as a Specialist in Construction Law. He is a Fellow of the American College of Construction Lawyers, founding Fellow, and past-President of the Canadian College of Construction Lawyers, a Fellow of the International Academy of Construction Lawyers, and a Distinguished Fellow of the International Academy of Mediators. Mr. Glaholt is author and co-author of several reference books on construction law and alternative dispute resolution, including Halsbury’s Laws of Canada – Construction and Alternative Dispute Resolution, The Law of ADR in Canada: An Introductory Guide, Construction Builders’ and Mechanics’ Liens in Canada, Conduct of Lien, Trust and Adjudication Proceedings and The Annotated Ontario Construction Act. He is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Law. Mr. Glaholt is a Chartered Arbitrator and has mediated and arbitrated a wide range of complex, multiparty construction industry and infrastructure disputes including processing plants, refineries, capture plants, mining, energy, and transportation projects. For 10 years Mr. Glaholt was a Director of one of Canada’s largest public hospital organizations, the William Osler Health Center, and chaired the Board for four years during the development of a new 650-bed campus.
