Administered through the NC Administrative Office of the Courts, the NC Guardian ad Litem Program recruits, trains, and supervises citizen volunteers to serve as the voice for abused and/or neglected children in the court system. Once trained, a volunteer Guardian ad Litem and an attorney are jointly appointed by a judge. This team works together to protect the child's legal rights and to promote the best interests of the child.
