About Us

Administered through the NC Administrative Office of the Courts, the NC Guardian ad Litem Program recruits, trains, and supervises citizen volunteers to serve as the voice for abused and/or neglected children in the court system.  Once trained, a volunteer Guardian ad Litem and an attorney are jointly appointed by a judge.  This team works together to protect the child's legal rights and to promote the best interests of the child.  A Guardian ad Litem enjoys the personal satisfaction of making sure that a child is not forgotten and has a voice in court.  Our Program has a critical need for GAL Volunteers in Mitchell County.
