Richard is an independent filmmaker specializing in videos on history & politics. He also has expertise in finding & using public domain archival film. Director & Co-Producer of the feature documentaries, American Feud: A History of Conservatives & Liberals & Confounding Father: A Contrarian View of the U.S. Constitution - both distributed through Docuseek and available via Ovid TV. Co-produced the 2019 short film Sensei Fran Kicks Ass, and produced & directed the 2023 short film The World We Wanted. 

Richard's film interests & work experience:

* Presents a Takoma Park, Maryland “Vintage Movie Night” arts program several times a year

* Conceived & produced the weekly C-SPAN archival film series Reel America® (2014-2021) at: c-span.org

*Produced, shot & edited the C-SPAN series American Artifacts - which visits museums & historic places. (approx. 200 episodes from 2010-2021) at c-span.org

* Interviewed numerous authors, journalists, politicians & many others for broadcast on C-SPAN's Book TV and other C-SPAN programs. 

* Previously co-facilitated the Docs in Progress/Women in Film and Video Roundtable - "Trailer Night"
