A little bit about me::
I am of Ngapuhi Te Aopouri and Ngati Kuri
currently living in Kirikiriroa
I have over 20 years of experience in the addiction and mental
health field, I dedicated a significant portion of my career to
Waitemata DHB, specializing in cultural services. Within this, I served
in various capacities, including CADs, mainstream, and as an Alcohol
and other Drug clinician, conducting assessments, facilitating group
sessions, and providing one-on-one counselling.
During a brief stint at Homecare Medical (Whakarongorau), I held the
position of Senior Practitioner, contributing to different helplines,
offering support to both callers and staff. My role also encompassed
that of a Shift Supervisor, that provided at hock support for clinician
whist working with someone in crises, or at risk.
Over the past four years, I have actively worked in the field of sexual
trauma and continue to support whanau through this challenging
space, particularly with whanau referred from Royal Commission.
Presently, I operate as a private counsellor and supervisor, managing
my own practice with contracts in health, private, supervision, and
Employee Assistance Programs (EAP). (OCP) (Benstar)
My counselling and supervision services cover a broad spectrum,
incorporating both clinical and cultural perspectives with a holistic
approach. Over the last three years I have supervised a diverse
range of individuals, from students studying Health science to
professionals working in education and health organizations. I have
provided group and individual supervision for staff working within
mental health and addiction Field.

as part of cultural supervison practice
