Current Corporation began in 1986 as a small electrical productdistributor with big aspirations. Over the years, Current has repeatedlyadapted its main product lines to accommodate the changing markets and consumerdemand. In 1995, The Law Enforcement line originated with ITT Night Vision, whichin turn led to other products over the years.

In 1998, a request was made by B.C. Ferries to develop a product fortheir high-speed craft. The system developed incorporated two of our products,the Night Vision camera and the Xenon Searchlight. The first sale of the NightNavigator was completed in 1999 and has taken Current into an explosive globalmarket. Though our product has endured many modifications and upgrades, we areon our way to becoming the leading supplier of Marine Imaging Systems worldwidefor high-speed craft.

From 1999 to 2003, the number of employees in the Port Moody office  rose from four to fourteen. Along with a smallbranch office in Nanaimo, dealers for our Night Vision product are located inAustralia, New Zealand, Norway, Spain, France, Greece, Italy, China, Hong Kong,Taiwan, South Korea, United States, Estonia, Kuwait, and the United ArabEmirates (UAE).

Current Sales Corporation went bankrupt in early 2014 and the companywas purchased by Greg Menzies, re-opening the doors in August 2014 as CurrentScientific Corporation, and bringing back many core employees from the oldcompany. Since then, Current has invested heavily in Engineering to design anew full range of products to satisfy the market needs. We have continued tohire more and more staff to facilitate these designs and builds and createdemand for them worldwide. By Fall 2020, Current had 26 employees, and had justopened up an office in the Netherlands.
