Enaadmaagehjik

"People Helping People"Enaadmaagehjik, operating as the Wikwemikong Development Commission is a non-profit organization established in 1973, which acts as the economic development branch of Wikwemikong Unceded Indian Reserve.

Since its founding, Enaadmaagehjik has made great progress in creating employment and supporting business development. In 1973 the community had 5 stores and now has 67 businesses offering a range of products and services.

In honour of 35 years of service and in cooperation with the Language Revitaliztion Strategy, the Wikwemikong Development Commission adopted the Anishnaabe name "Enaadmaagehjik"

2008 was a milestone year and provided us an opportunity to honour our past and present board members who believed in the Founding Member's vision of a prosperous Wikwemikong. Chi Miigwetch to our 1971 founding members: Chief John Wakegijig band councillors; Arthur Jacko, Antoine Gabow, Henry Hill, Onezime Bebamikawe, Henry Peltier (Chief), and Ron Wakegijig (Chief).

Enaadmaagehjik's not for profit incorporation status has provided Wikwemikong the opportunity to access funding for continued success in community and economic development.
