Where & When
Remind Me
What is succession planting?

It's a way to use the soil and air temperature differences of each season to grow a variety of crops.  Done well, planting successionally can increase the overall amount of food harvested from a garden space.  It also provides a continuous supply of fresh produce to eat and preserve throughout the whole growing season.

This talk will cover:
  • choosing crops to grow in each season
  • selecting varieties of vegetables and fruit
  • bridging crops for between the seasons
  • planting partners
  • sowing directly
  • using transplants
  • a brief review of soil care and nutrients
