I am working on my first documentary, about the history and influence of LOOK magazine, which was the subject of my most recent book. I am a former New York Times reporter who has also worked in the federal government, international organizations, think tanks, and nonprofits. I have done extensive freelance writing and published six books. I currently teach in the Honors College at George Mason University.

I am finishing up a degree in Digital Filmmaking March 2022 at La Film School. I have over ten years expereince producing, directing and editing a program I created called SustainableScoop. In 2020 I founded the non profit organization SustainableScoop to engage young people in public speaking and civics.
