Barry Sessle is Professor and Canada Research Chair at the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry and Faculty of Medicine. He joined the University of Toronto in 1971 and was Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry from 1990 to 2001. He is an elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, and has served as President of the International Association for the Study of Pain, and President of both the International and the Canadian Associations for Dental Research. Dr. Allison gained his dental degree from University College London (UCL) in 1986, a Royal College of Surgeons of England fellowship in 1990, an MSc in dental public health at UCL in 1994, and a PhD in Dental Sciences at McGill University in 1998.
