Rebecca Fuhrer is Chair of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Occupational Health and holds the Strathcona Chair of Preventive Medicine at McGill University. She is the recipient of the Canada Research Chair in Psychosocial Epidemiology. Her research centers on social determinants of mental health, particularly gender, social integration, and social position. Recent research covers: access to care for first episode psychosis; hippocampal changes and depression in aging; life course SES and major depression in young adults. Prior to joining McGill, she held academic positions at University College London, INSERM in Paris and the Harvard School of Public Health.
