Dr. Donald Cockcroft is a renowned and highly cited expert in asthma who has made significant contributions to respiratory medicine. His pioneering achievements have played a key role in our understanding of asthma and have impacted asthma diagnosis and management. He has been heavily involved in developing asthma guidelines with organizations such as the Canadian Thoracic Society. He is one of the founders of the AllerGen Network of Centres of Excellence Clinical Investigator Collaborative, a world-leading initiative to identify and accelerate development of potential new asthma medications. He also developed the widely used Cockcroft-Gault formula for predicting creatinine clearance.
