Daniel Motyka was President of Questor Technology until June 2005, at which time and following a succession plan, he took on the role of Vice President and Designer Emeritus. He was instrumental in the Gulf Beaufort System and in the Russian joint venture, KomiArctic Oil; he also holds a patent for a waste natural gas incinerator. He served as APEGGA's President in 1998-1999, and serves as its current director on the Canadian Council of Professional Engineers. Daniel Motyka has had a major impact on the Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary; he was the founding Chair of the Engineering Associates Program and continues to be a member today. He also played major roles in the establishment of both the Project Management Chair and the Petroleum Chair.
