About Me


Chris Roney is the recent Past President of Engineers Canada, the national organization of the 12 engineering regulators that license Canada's more than 290,000 members of the profession. He chaired its Lessons Learned Task Force, preparing recommendations from the outcome of the Charbonneau Commission in Quebec, the Mount Polley Tailings Dam Failure in BC, and the Algo Mall Collapse in Elliot Lake Ontario. Chris is also President of Roney Engineering Limited. He frequently serves as a consultant to municipal Building Departments on building code related structural issues. He has been responsible for the structural design of countless buildings, in addition to numerous structural audits and forensic investigations.
