Prof. Andre Salama of the University of Toronto has made seminal and outstanding contributions to semiconductor device and integrated circuit research. He has demonstrated innovation and creativity in promoting Canadian university research programs; he has also shown strong leadership in founding the Canadian Microelectronics Corporation and Micronet. Equally impressive have been his efforts in fostering collaboration with Canadian industries. Prof. Salama is also noted for his effectiveness as a teacher, and as a mentor of highly trained scientists and engineers.
