Bin Wu is an NSERC Industrial Research Chair and a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Ryerson University. He is well recognized for his outstanding contributions to the advancement of power converter technologies and variable speed drives. He was one of the pioneers in developing large commercial electric drives in the megawatt range using current source converter technology. His research results have been used by Canadian companies, which has assisted them in achieving technical and commercial success in the global marketplace.
