About Me


Kat has
made a career of fitness instruction since 2004 and is extremely proud to have
been named Manitoba Urban Fitness Leader of the Year 2020. She presently
divides her time between personal training clients and group classes which she
carries out online or, when conditions permit, at clients' homes as well as at
various gyms and community centres around town (Morfit, the Reh-fit centre, St
Boniface Hospital, Breast Health Centre, and senior centers in StBoniface where
she teaches in French). Fascinated by the ever-evolving world of fitness, Kat
is committed to helping her clients find their personal formula for health and
happiness. Certifications: Kat originally certified as a volunteer instructor
with the YMCA in Group Fitness, Individual Conditioning-Resistance Training and
Aquafit (2001-2004); at the time she was working as a medical
journalist/writer. In 2004, Kat was given an opportunity to make a career of
fitness and grabbed it whole-heartedly, transferring her certifications to the
MFC. Kat has since added the Active Older Adult certification and canfitpro's
Personal Training Specialist. Education: Kat has a Masters in Biology from
McGill University (1998) and is the recipient of two national science
scholarships.
