Amin Ghali of the University of Calgary has made outstanding contributions to the teaching, the development, and the practice of Structural Engineering.  He has authored over 200 technical papers, seven patents and four books on structural analysis and design of concrete structures.  His books have been published in English in four countries and in five major foreign languages.  He is one of two inventors of the Stud Shear Reinforcement, the most effective means of preventing punching failure of concrete floor slabs.  Dr. Ghali has excellent worldwide reputation as teacher, author, researcher and structural engineer.
