The aim of pilates is to achieve optimal musculoskeletal performance, including strength, flexibility and endurance, without the risk of injury.  Mat workouts incorporate many balanced exercise sequences for all ages and populations, focusing on core stability, shoulder girdle stabilization, breathing and correct placement of the pelvis, ribs, neck and head.  This form of exercise is ideal for people who struggle with chronic back and neck pain, as well as reoccurring injuries.
