Prof. Patrick Selvadurai of McGill University has demonstrated excellence and dedication in teaching, research and professional practice in civil engineering, applied mechanics and applied mathematics. His research has contributed to the development of mathematical and computational models for complex problems, in areas of deep geological disposal of nuclear waste, focusing on coupled processes of mechanical, thermal, heat and chemical transport in porous media. In addition, he has developed innovative analytical computational and experimental approaches for the study of mechanics of fluid-saturated geomaterials, soil-structure interaction, and for simulating traveling wheel loads on bridge decks.
