About Me


Dr. Corbett is a Professor of Neurosciences at the University of Ottawa and is Scientific Director and CEO of the Heart and Stroke Foundation Centre for Stroke Recovery. Dr. Corbett’s pioneering research on the protective effects of prolonged hypothermia is used worldwide for treating cardiac arrest patients. Recently he has identified critical issues regarding the timing, intensity and complexity of rehabilitation needed to optimally enhance recovery from stroke. The Canadian Stroke Network recognized his teaching and mentoring excellence by awarding him the inaugural Paul Morley Mentorship Award in 2005.
