About Me

I am a Clinical Psychologist (Registered) based in New Plymouth, Taranaki who has worked in a variety of settings for the past twenty years. This was firstly in her native Ireland, and after she moved to New Zealand in 2006. She moved to Taranaki in January 2012, where she has been working in private practice.

I work with adolescents and adults, primarily in the 16 to 28 year old age group, who present with a range of issues. This can include having experienced abuse, or are struggling with anger, anxiety, attachment problems, depression, stress, self-harm or substance misuse.

I believe therapy should fit with my client’s personality style, and as such I enjoys using a varied approach to therapy. Different types of therapy that can be provided include, amongst others, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Eye-Movement, Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR and family/whanau work.

I work with a range of organisations including ACC Sensitive Claims, Instep and Vitae EAP; Taranaki Primary Connections; Victim Support; Family and District Courts and others.

Some people may qualify for free counselling/therapy. Please contact me to discuss the criteria and process involved.
