About Me


Dr. Mody is an internationally recognized clinician scientist in respiratory infections and host defense, and on the pathogenesis of infections in cystic fibrosis. His research investigates mechanisms or host defense to microbes including fungi and bacteria including Cryptococcus, a yeast that kills almost 700,000 persons with AIDS per year. Dr. Mody has been involved in writing international guidelines for the management of fungal infections, and he has trained a number of scientists and clinicians who now hold faculty positions at major universities worldwide. In addition, he has held numerous leadership roles in national and international organizations.
