Celeste Johnston is James McGill Professor and Associate Director for Research at the McGill School of Nursing. She is a Nurse Scientist (Hon) at the McGill University Health Centre (Montreal) and the lsaac Walton Kiilam Children’s Hospital (Halifax). She is Director of the Canadian Pain Coalition, Secretary of the Special Interest Group on Pain in Children of the International Association for the Study of Pain, and Past- President of the Canadian Pain Society. Dr. Johnston’s research interests focus on non-pharmacologic interventions for pain in infants, with a particular focus on pre-term infants. Other areas include measurement of pain in infants and improving pain management practices by health care professionals.
