Professional Biography


Dr. Bill Lotz – D.Min., CCISM. Chaplain Lotz is the founder and executive director of Chaplain Services Network. Starting out as a firefighter with Cowlitz County WA in 1978, Bill also has a degree in Forest Management and fought fire with the US Forest Service in North Idaho. He was a Firefighter EMT with Benton County Fire Dist#1 while serving as a local pastor. Bill began a chaplain program with BCFD#1 and Kennewick Fire which has grown to become Chaplain Services Network, serving emergency services agencies in Southeast Washington.

Bill has a Master of Divinity Degree and Doctor of Ministry Degree from Gateway Seminary. He has a CISM certificate from the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation and teaches CISM courses throughout the US and Canada. Dr. Lotz is also the lead for the Northwest Baptist Disaster Relief's chaplaincy program. He serves as an instructor and is past Training Director for the Federation of Fire Chaplains, is the editor of the Fire Chaplain Institute Training Manual, and is a member of the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress.
