Ahsante Bean

About Me


Ahsante Bean is an independent creative director, executive producer, and multimedia storyteller. Ahsante’s work focuses on using video storytelling and social media platforms to build community, increase empathy, and create a more informed public.

She has worked on video production and strategy for a variety of media companies and brands, including PBS Digital Studios, GBH, The Poynter Institute, PolitiFact, and IDEO. She is the creator and executive producer of Say It Loud, a PBS Digital Studios series celebrating Black history and culture.

On her YouTube channel “Ahsante the Artist” she makes videos on personal development and social awareness that inspire her audience to move consciously and creatively through life.

As a consultant, Ahsante provides creative direction, editorial development, and content strategy expertise to media companies and audience-facing brands. Her specialty is in educational online video and mission-driven storytelling.

Ahsante has been a featured creator at VidCon, the largest international conference for online video. She is a 2021 YouTube Black Voices grant recipient, and a 2020 Online News Association Women’s Leadership Accelerator cohort member. Her work has been featured in The Washington Post, Buzzfeed, MSNBC, The Root, and in the Museum of the Moving Image.

Ahsante holds a B.A. in Film & Video from Harvard University.
