About Me

Chrisa Giorgi has produced, directed, and edited her first documentary “In the Wine Dark Sea” in nine months (from inception to film completion). A film about the wines of Crete, the indigenous grape varieties, the history and the culture around wine, and the challenges the winegrowers face with climate change in the hot climate of Crete. The documentary is currently circulating the film festivals across the globe and is scheduled for a theatrical release in February 2022 in Tampa Theater in Florida.

She is working on another wine-related documentary as a director, called “A Man’s Search for Wine” which illustrates the struggles of a wine importer to keep his business running during the pandemic, convey his love for Italian wine to the consumers in the US while trying to live a life worth living all at the same time. Filmed in Italy and the US, this documentary is currently in post-production editing and is anticipated to be released in December 2021. She is in the research phase of a documentary titled “The Vine Solution to Climate Change” which aims to showcase how wine-growers can minimize the effects of climate change by switching to regenerative farming.

All the films she is making are around the subject of wine and the wine industry in general. She thinks wine is the magic elixir that opens up interesting conversations when consumed in moderation, mindfully, and with love. With her films, she wants to demystify the world of wine so that the consumer starts to care about what’s in their glass and starts to demand better quality wines, made with love and with environmentally conscious farming techniques.
