Professional Biography

The Reverend Doctor Troy D. Ehlke, Th.M. is deeply committed to the ministry of counseling and crisis intervention. He aspires to be an active agent in the transformational processes through which all people must pass should they wish to move in the aftermath of a crisis from victim to survivor, and ultimately climax at the peak of restoration: resilient, thriving spirit. Rev. Dr. Ehlke has functioned in the roles of Senior Pastor in a Level Five Conflicted Church following its organizational implosion and assisted in brining new life to an organization, post-mortem; He has also served in clinical settings as a Chaplain in a State Psychiatric Hospital in Massachusetts, worked with Developmentally-Disabled Adults in ARC Group Homes in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and functioned as a Trauma Chaplain at a Level One Trauma Center in a County Hospital in the greater Seattle area. Presently, Rev. Dr. Ehlke functions as a staff pastoral psychotherapist at the Winter Park Recovery Center in Winter Park, Florida, though is presently on Sabbatical for the purposes of writing his fifth book on developing faith-based responses to traumatic circumstances intended for a youthful audience. Rev. Dr. Ehlke's research interests include: traumatic effects on the development of children in the maturation process; neurobehavioral changes in the aftermath of tragedy; and examining present-day clinical methodologies for the treatment of the bereaved, especially those frozen in the thanatological diagnosis known as "complicated grief." Rev. Dr. Ehlke is working on the development of an eclectic clinical paradigm for professional caregivers to use to maximize their potential for igniting positive change within their clients suffering from catastrophic loss or from their traumatic experiences.
