Professional Biography


Thom has been over 20 years as an emergency responders with various EMS, hazardous materials response team, and fire departments. He is working with organizations that also assist people at their time of natural or man-made disasters. He is also a chaplain in one of the local hospitals that works with substance abuse, behavioral health issues, detox, acute care and long term care. He also serves as a chaplain to the fire service and law enforcement and serves as a peer advocate and was a chaplain for a crisis line. He also works with youth as referred to him through an organization that work with youth with behavioral issues, and crisis. Some of the organizations that he has worked with are Disaster Response Crisis Counselors, American Red Cross, and Serve and Protect. He has already worked with emergency responders, disaster workers, and the general population for around the country

He has worked with people who have seen many who have died in fire, motor vehicle accidents, industrial accidents and so many different ways he cannot recall them all. He has worked with the clients from youth to the elderly. His heart goes out to the physically and mentally challenged children and youth adults. He has advocated for them for the past 30 years.

Thom serves as a counselor and chaplain for the State of New Jersey Disaster and Terrorism Branch with their Disaster Response Crisis Counselors.

Thom served as co-lead for Disaster Spiritual Care in the state of New Jersey for the American Red Cross. With the ARC, he has been deployed for numerous fires, transportation accident, and hurricanes. He advocates the belief of healing mind, body and spirit to help the client recover faster, after experiencing the crisis and trauma.

Thom also is a columnist for a national trade periodical for the fire service and address issues of faith and also crisis and mental health issues. Some of his articles have been reprinted for regional newsletters as well as a nationally syndicated radio network, which has an outreach teaching crisis response.

Thom is now working on forming a therapy farm to work with people who have physical, mental or sprititual challenges. They will be working with military, emergency responders, victims of domestic violence and more. They will have an outreach to assist those who have challenges with the system. The farm will also train people on how to deal with stress, and how to serve others who are in need. Those who are trained to serve others will also be able to be mentored through the farm.
