Thomas Gillan is the Founder and Director of the P S U Crisis Management and Training Group, Inc. This non-profit organization has been assisting law enforcement agencies, officers and their families since 1992. P S U Crisis Management and Training Group provides a confidential response through peer support, group facilitation, law enforcement life coaching, critical incident stress debriefing, acute traumatic stress management, stress and trauma reduction and multi-sensory traumatic-stress resolution exercises and post critical incident stress seminars. The organization currently provides support services, educational programs and training for Law Enforcement Personnel, Governmental and Non-Governmental Organizations, Corporate Clients, Social Service Agencies, and Faith-Based Organizations.

Thomas Gillan is a Certified Law Enforcement Trainer, Critical Incident Stress Management and Peer Support Professional, Stress and Trauma Reduction Exercise Coach, Crisis Management Specialist, Compassion Fatigue Educator, Law Enforcement Life Coach, LE Chaplain, and Keynote / Motivational Speaker. Thomas Gillan is a member of The National Center for Crisis Management and The American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress and The American Academy of Police Psychology. He has trained over 20,000 Law Enforcement Professionals across the Country. He has authored articles for numerous Law Enforcement Publications and served as publisher and editor for The Law Enforcement Chaplain's Monthly Messenger. Thomas Gillan has received numerous awards and recognition for his work over the past 30 years from Federal, State and Local Law Enforcement Agencies and Organizations including the 2012 Trainer of the Year Award from The Florida Network of Victim Witness Services.

Thomas Gillan is a Criminal Justice Instructor/Certified Law Enforcement Trainer with Training Force USA, the Florida Sheriff's Association, the Florida Attorney General's Office, Saint Petersburg College – Center for Public Safety Innovation, Saint Leo University – Criminal Justice Programs, Valencia State College - Criminal Justice Institute, Tallahassee Community College – Florida Public Safety Institute, and North Carolina Central Piedmont Community College – Public Safety Institute. Mr. Gillan has developed educational curriculums on subjects that include Law Enforcement Stress, Trauma and Suicide Awareness, In- Line of Duty Injury and Death, Leadership and Coaching for First Line Law Enforcement Supervisors, De-Escalation Skills and Tactics in Dealing with the Mentally Ill and Veterans returning from war,Human Resource Issues in Policing: Recruiting, Hiring, Training, Human and Cultural Diversity and Officer Safety, Safety and Security for Places of Worship, Workplace Violence and a Sensible Response to an Active Shooter, Crisis Management and Intervention, Compassion Fatigue, 911 Operator and Dispatcher Wellness, Negotiation Skills for LE First Responders, Correctional Officer Stress and Trauma Awareness and Officer Safety, What Every Law Enforcement Chaplain Needs To Know and Human Trafficking Awareness Training.

As a Certified Law Enforcement Trainer, Mr. Gillan was selected by The Florida Department of Law Enforcement to provide his expertise to assist with development of an eight-hour human trafficking curriculum for new recruits and a forty-hour curriculum for investigators. In 2011, Mr. Gillan developed the National Institute for Human Trafficking Research and Training to research and track current trends and provide up-to-date training for Law Enforcement Personnel and Social Service Providers. Mr. Gillan has served in many volunteer roles including Executive Director for The Central Florida Chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors, the Florida Statewide Crisis Intervention Team, the UCF FIRE Project Program and the Florida Statewide Human Trafficking Task Force. Thomas Gillan was appointed in 2013/2014/2015/2016 by The University of Central Florida – College of Medicine as a Faculty Member and Mentor to medical students -assisting them with Focused Inquiry and Research Experience - FIRE Projects. FIRE Projects have included the 2014Development of a Human Trafficking Awareness Training Curriculum for Emergency Room Medical Personnel and 2015/2016 Research on Law Enforcement Officer Stress, Trauma, PTSD, Substance Abuse, Unethical Behavior and Officer Suicide and the Development of an Officer Wellness, Safety and Resiliency Educational Program.
