Professional Biography


Sherry Jones Mayo is a native of Michigan, registered nurse, retired paramedic, and crisis response strategist, interventionist, consultant, and educator. With more than two decades of experience, Sherry has made significant contributions to the field of crisis management. Sherry is also an approved instructor with the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Michigan Crisis Response Association. Combining experience in emergency medicine, psychiatric nursing, and corrections nursing with Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM), Sherry has published in a number of books, magazines, paramilitary, collegiate, and Internet forums, and authors a "Trauma Junkie" anthology.

In her 20+ years of involvement with the United States Air Force Auxiliary, Civil Air Patrol, Sherry has advanced to the grade of Lieutenant Colonel. During her tenure as the National Director, Critical Incident Stress Management at CAP, Sherry was the key architect in the development of CAP's National CISM Program, taking it from concept to a full program supporting the emergency services responders of the organizations 50,000+ volunteers.

Sherry Jones Mayo is a Founding Board Member, President, and CEO of Education Resource Strategies, Inc., and a doctoral student specializing in adult education. Her Master's degree in psychology specialized in Crisis Management and Response.
