Professional Biography


Mary Dunnigan is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and a certified Crisis Intervention Specialist, who is certified through the National Center For Crisis Management and the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress. She is committed to assisting victims and fellow professionals before, during, and in the aftermath of traumatic events and crisis situations.

Mary retired after 33 years as a Sergeant with the San Francisco Police Department spending 17 years on the streets in patrol, and was a Hostage Negotiator as well as a Peer Counselor. Later Mary became the Officer in Charge of the department's Behavioral Science Unit, which oversees psychological services and crisis response to officers and their families. She received her Masters degree from University of San Francisco in Counseling Psychology, as well her Bachelors degree in Organizational Behavior and has a lifetime teaching credential in Police Science.
Mary is CISD trained through the ICISF.
