Professional Biography


Jodi Ann Bocco has a long-standing affiliation with the American Red Cross and has served as a Virtual Disaster Mental Health Urgent Care crisis responder for multiple DR's during 2017 and has responded to natural disasters in NJ and Louisiana. In 2018 - she was appointed as the Disaster Mental Health lead for the American Red Cross NJ region. She is a Disaster Response Crisis Counselor for the State of New Jersey Disaster and Terrorism Branch. Her training is focused on resiliency - mind body strength based approaches utilizing psycho-educational strategies to encourage positive behavioral coping skills - based on developmental needs and/or chosen by client. A Developmental School Counselor with over 20 years of experience in a Pre-K through 8th grade public school. She is a child advocate - focused on the need for compliance and oversight needed to enforce the laws protecting children who are victims of crime. She has spoken nationally as an expert in the field in Huntsville Alabama - at the National Children's Advocacy Center's Symposium in March of 2013 - her presentations were on addressing the needs of children exposed to trauma - utilizing pedagogic strategies science based and research proven. She has taught at Rutgers University Summer - mini courses - specific Developing resiliency in children at risk. She has been recognized as an expert by state of NJ as a prevention specialist and appointed to state task force / working groups / committees related. She as worked as an affirmative action officer and Anti-bullying specialist and been recognized for her superior and outstanding work related. A past President of the NJ Association of Student Assistance Professionals / Legislative Advocate / and Public Relations specialist. She has presented nationally - as a child advocate to address the needs of children exposed to trauma, violence, disaster, and war. She supports the American Red Cross Services to the Arm Forces and specific training related.
