Professional Biography
Dr. Jane Parker began her helping career in medical and psychiatric social work, responding to clients and families facing catastrophic illnesses, chronic illness, and death. Since then she has worked in and taught classes in disasters and community resilience to public health and social work students at Tulane University. Now Dr. Parker and her Institute for Psychosocial Health at the University engage in collaborative research and response work with tragedies of gun violence and accidental deaths in New Orleans, Louisiana.
