David A. Hart is a Professor of Surgery and a Professor of Kinesiology at the University of Calgary. He is also a Member of the McCaig Institute for Bone & Joint Health. He has published >510 original papers, reviews and book chapters in a variety of areas (molecular & cell biology, wound healing, biology of sex differences, stem cells/regenerative medicine, arthritis, and obesity). Current research is focused on intervertebral disc disease, tendon healing, and use of stem/stromal cells and extracellular vesicles in the repair of tissues such as articular cartilage and tendons, as well as obesity effects on joint conditions/diseases. He mainatins a network of local, national and international collaborators to accomplish his research goals.
