Professional Biography

I love working with motivated individuals and couples who want to work to achieve reconciliation, healing, and growth in wholeness. My preparation for licensure included earning a Master of Divinity degree in applied theology from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis Missouri and combined Master of Science and Doctor of Psychology degrees from California Coast University, Santa Ana, California.

Ordained as a Lutheran priest, I have served in three settings including seventeen years as the campus pastor at the University of California at San Diego, where I enjoyed ministering to a diverse community of town members, undergraduates, and doctoral students in science, medicine, and philosophy, as well as post-doctoral scholars, foreign and domestic.

Following academic preparation, I did my clinical counseling hours under supervision of the American Association of Pastoral Counselors and was awarded the rank of Fellow in 2007. I have a strong interest in depth/archetypal psychology with its emphasis on integration of psychology and spirituality, as well as cognitive, behavioral, and somatic oriented therapy.

I am licensed by the State of Tennessee as a psychotherapist. My specific license is Clinical Pastoral Therapist. As such, I work effectively with those of various religious traditions as well as those who identify as spiritual but not religious.
