Bernie Bressler has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to health research. He is VP Research of Vancouver Coastal Health and Executive Director of the VCH Research Institute, which has become one of Canada’s most comprehensive and dynamic hospital-based research facilities. While VP Research at the University of British Columbia, he developed UBC’s first strategic research plan, created an award-winning brand for UBC research, and helped make the UBC University Industry Liaison Office a world leader in technology transfer. A leader in BC’s life sciences sector, he is Chairman of Discovery Parks, the leading developer of office and research space for BC start-ups. Internationally, he is a Board member of International Science and Technology Partnerships promoting bilateral R&D between Canada and China, India and Israel.
