The Nola Network was founded in Seneca, SC in 2020 to improve the health and educational outcomes of students and families within South Carolina and beyond. Each initative created by the Nola Network is crafted to improve health and educational equity by improving access to services, advancing advocacy, improving awareness for issues that impact the health of students within our state.
The Nola Network's flagship initative is the Keep the Beat: Vari Benson SCA Prevention Project. Through this project, The Nola Network works to prevent sudden cardiac arrests in youth and to improve the survival outcomes for those impacted by this #1 cause of death on school campuses. We accomplish this by providing preventative heart screenings for students, providing hands on CPR & AED training for youth, and by increasing the community awareness for this epidemic that takes the lives of approximately 1 child every hour every day in the US.
